    johnallsopp I’ve long felt that tension as a Star Trek fan, hanging on its (mostly) hopeful vision of the future. I’d say you make a fair criticism of these stories’ ability to function as a blueprint for social change. But as a source of hope and inspiration maybe they serve their purpose?
